Dear All,

As I mentioned in my last note, I won't be at Wednesday's meeting; but I wonder if I could please ask to have the following two points included:

1. The course of study I would like to offer to teach should be titled "Introduction to Humanitarian Studies". (Details in my last note).

2. I would just like to emphasize that if anyone does take an interest in the People's Constitution (mentioned in my last note) that I personally would have no special control on the project. I simply offer the work I've already done as a possible framework, a working document that might be used as a starting point. Whilst I would be very happy to co-ordinate and administer the project, and would obviously take part in the debates, I would have no more decision-making authority, or ownership of the finished article, than anyone else involved with it.

The other point I would like to re-emphasize is that this project could include anyone at SSC, from scholars who have just left school to those with years of professional or academic careers behind them. Much of it is entirely new, highly ideological and potentially as important as Magna Carta, if not even more so; and the more people involved with its design the better - as the name suggests.

So because of its highly inclusive nature for anyone interested in any of the social sciences, and because of its original, radical and idealistic intentions, I suggest it would be a fairly good theme for a talk/discussion.

Best wishes

john
