[SSC] Joel Lazarus explains the Free University Network

Dear all,

Just ahead of this weekend's Sustaining Alternative Universities confernce in Oxford, Joel Lazarus has 
written a short piece explaining his rationale for creating the Free University Network (see here: 
http://www.ragged-online.com/2012/11/introducing-free-university-network-joel-lazarus/). His experiences 
with the Social Science Centre has played a role in this, so it is relevant for us. As the first season (aka 
term) of the Social Science Imagination draws to a close and plans for the next one are being developed (and 
as it has emerged, many more after, in circulation), it would be great to read this together and reflect 
critically upon it. Perhaps at our next general meeting, which I think is now being scheduled? Look forward 
to seeing everyone again soon, and share what's been going on.
