Hia,
Sorry - I'm getting confused about the announcements list. Sorry if I'm
asking awkward question - please don't be annoyed with me! Just got a
couple...
I thought it was going to be a) approved at SSF meetings, e.g. next
Thursday, before being sent out and b) sent out through the riseup.net
announcement account, which you're not signed up to yet, are you? Who
are you intending to send it out to?
Also: Two thoughts on format -
1. The One World news format is excellent - see example below - because
it has a quick summary before all the full details.
It's not easy to wade through all of the ones in its current format.
This pre-list always leads you in. Each item could be in
what/when/where/contact format. E.g.
THIS MONTH'S EVENT HEADLINES:
> 'Why don't you?' Sheffield Social Forum open meeting // Thur 17th Feb
7.30pm // St.Andrew's Church Hall, Hanover Way // phone 07968 997861
Again - see below example for what I mean.
2. It's grown into a regional announcement list - which is cool! But
because of this, should we split it into 'Sheffield events' and wider
stuff? Coz I thought it was meant originally to be for Sheffield people
mainly? It's a bloody big job trying to do a regional events list -
worthwhile, but bloody big!
Thoughts on a post-card please.
peace
Dan

TEACHERS WIN SIGNIFICANT VICTORY IN COURT OF APPEAL
---------------------------------------------------
(21 feb 2005) Teachers in B.C. are celebrating a landmark Court
ruling. The B.C. Court of Appeal has affirmed that teachers can
grieve violations of the class size numbers in the School Act. The
government had previously stripped class size limits from the
teachers' collective agreement, resulting in larger classes and less
individual attention for students.
