Hi folks -

I was talking to a guy called Mike who is involved in starting up a
campaign against sheffield university's deep involvement with weapons
manufacturers like BAE and Boeing.  He's possibly doing a session at the
Gaza support workshop this saturday in sheffiled (see below).  About the
deep involvement of the arms manufacturers - and the universities who
support them - in the attacks on Gaza - and what we can do about it. But
would need - at least - someone to facilitate the session with him .
Some (not lots of) knowledge of arms trade issues might be helpful - but
not essential - alternatively - ability in giving moral support in
getting a discussion going etc. could be great - or ........

please pass the message on to others who may be up for it.

And even if not - the afternoon looks really worthwhile just coming to!

Boycott Israel: Day of information, workshops and action.
Saturday 31st January; Quaker Meeting House

James St. Sheffield city centre: 12 noon - 4.30 p.m. 

Lunch and refreshments available.

Workshops/ information available on:

 the consumer boycott,

 the Veolia campaign, 

academic boycott, 

arms embargo, 

disinvestment campaigns and more. 

We will look at the arguments for boycott, disinvestment and sanctions
and work on actions that can be taken by both groups and individuals.
We will also plan how to work with Sheffield city Council, who have
agreed to set up a cross party working group following the presentation
of our petition to the Council.
