Hi Sean,

I would absolutely love to chat with you about this, if you want to
reply off list. I am open to your viewpoint, clearly it is working for
you - I'm envious!

In my experience it's buggy as hell, new ones pop up with almost every
upgrade, and contributing bugfixes is well-nigh impossible due to
complexity of the development workflow - I've put in a few simple and
obvious PRs which never got accepted because every time it was about to,
the codebase had changed under it (yet the bug remained).

These days i don't bother trying to fix bugs, which is a real shame as I
have the skills and the motivation to help other users but I was put off
by these experiences of wasting my and others' time.

Importing donations is a total no-no - I had to write a module just to
do so, whilst Civi has an interface for importing them which had options
for all the things we wanted to do, it just didn't do them.

Are your systems pretty simple? I get the impression that the basic
stuff might work OK, but if you try and do anything more complex, it's
like https://twitter.com/computerfact/status/778271435357822980
