Hi All,
Last Friday and Saturday Nick and I had our own workshop around the
set-up and subsequent streaming of some of the talks at HL.
We've amended the page at
https://hacktionlab.org/index.php?title=HacktionLab_Sheffield_2023_Streaming_Set-up
to cover the changes we made and the final equipment we used for it.
Our general conclusion was that live streaming wasn't really suitable
for an event like HacktionLab being that it's very 'in person'.
However, what we learned can be used for a talk similar to the Karrot
one Nick did with Vasilis where we have speakers who are both in the
room and remote. The Big Blue Button software was easy to use and
performed very well.
The format would work well for an 'all-remote' event where everyone,
whether in the room or not, were on laptops. So if we ever do a proper
hacklab, then this is our pigeon!
Cheers,
Mike.
