*A new neighborhood park at SE 19th and Division? Share your vision!
When: Wednesday June 3, at 5:30 (before the Division Street CAC meets at 6)
Where: St. Philip Neri Church Carlvin Hall; 2408 SE 16th Avenue (and
Division)*
*
*Are you interested in helping create a “Pocket Park” at SE 19th & Division?
Join HAND board members and other neighbors to talk about how we can do
this. Our goal is to get on paper specifics of what the community would like
to see at this currently underutilized “public right of way” and how we
might go about making a public park a reality. With the reconstruction of
Division Street, there may be ways we can get funding from
groups/organizations involved with and interested in Division’s
redevelopment. Next meeting will be brief - before the Division Street
Citizens Advisory Committee meeting at Carlvin Hall.
*
SE Uplift Sustainability Network Meeting*
*When: Thursday, June 4 (meeting at 6:30 p.m., presentation at 7 p.m.)*
*Where: SE Uplift, 3534 SE Main, Portland, OR*

Over the last month, C-Change has worked to compile the information and
feedback they gathered through outreach and research into an easy-to-use
handbook for neighborhoods, The Neighborhood Climate Action Planning
Handbook. C-Change will be presenting the guidebook at the next SE Uplift
Sustainability Network meeting. The presentation will include a preview of
the handbook and a discussion on how the handbook can be helpful to
neighborhoods in meeting their goals.

*Village Building Convergence <http://cityrepair.org/events/vbc/>
When: Friday, June 6 --> Sunday June 14
Where: Evening events at New Day School Annex, Jagrti, located at 1847 SE
Clinton Street*
*Daytime events are all over the city (and region) - see
schedule<http://cityrepair.org/events/vbc/sites-2009/site-activity-timeline/>for
details.
*

*The VBC is a 10-day event held each spring, where a **convergence of
citizens, natural builders and activists come together to help neighborhoods
design and build their own community amenities. *Nighttime events, including
speakers and music, are happening right in the heart of Hosford Abernethy!
This is a great way to learn more about various and interconnected ideas
regarding neighborhood sustainability. Daytime events are happening all over
the city. Click here to see the Site Activity
Timeline<http://cityrepair.org/events/vbc/sites-2009/site-activity-timeline/>to
see what workshops and events you might want to attend.
