[matilda] PGA again...

as long as there is place for a multitude of forked paths and roads

as long as there is time for reflection also

as long as a social centre is not defined as an arm's length anything

as long as it is a temporary alternative terrain for insurrection
as long as it is wrapped up in colourful untamed banners
as long as there are clown armies and poets inside its walls,

mmm... matilda will be alive

which is not to say that *matilda will cease to be alive when it
becomes a social centre as such (like Simuney on london road, sharrow
social centre, or even new roots at spital hill); that as soon as
matilda becomes an
openly 24/7, family orientated social centre, with proper facilities and
that, with a bank account and so on, with a formal officially drafted
constitution establishing secretaries, treasurers and what not, matilda
will die. It will cease to be that terrain for insurrection to become a
terrain for accommodation in the sense of fitting into a status quo...

BUT let's not be hypocrites either: the main source of income so far has
been *selling drinks* (most not soft drinks by the way).

So we are ALSO within the context of Sheffield community, its rough,
wild and tough drinking culture environment.

(The Wombles were chased during g8, so perhaps it's a good referral
after all...?)
