errr either I'm being dumb or the wiki's gone weird - whenever I try to
save an edit/new page it goes to the preview screen and won't let me
save the changes...

Well, anyway, i was trying to create a page for last night's minutes and
links to the page...so below are the minutes, and i'll have another go
some other time, or perhaps somebody else can sort it...ta.

normal admonito ut lector apply.

============================================

=Matilda minutes 20 Feb 2006=

(Two student journalists were graciously allowed to bore themselves
silly by listening to the following)

==new proposals==

*Proposal for an artists' event, where several artists come together,
show work, do arty stuff, then have a party. Apr 1 proposed date - May
also possible. Major stumbling block: proposed end time; proposer
wanted 6AM. Long discussion: many unhappy at late finish - referred to
decision from December (?) that no party would go on past 2AM, and that
only once a month. Proposer did suggest that party could take place
elsewhere. Ketamine collective volunteered to take up the proposal, and
come back with a concrete plan next week for discussion in a fortnight,
to include proposed finish time, size, number of people running event,
security arrangements.

*A Medics First meeting was proposed for 25/26 March. A closed
gathering, with c.10 people staying over. Benefit gig also mooted,
perhaps 23rd. Clash with BRCT noted; proposer to liase with Clowns vis
a vis use of space.

*Medics first to hold open first aid training, Apr 1.

*Friday 24 Feb: Art gallery opening - 6:30 on - some well-known drummer
to play early in proceedings.

*Workshops/discussion groups on political texts to run fortnightly from
March 1.

===clarification on proposal system===

Collectives have autonomy to organise their own events. Collectives
should include in their reports back to spokes meetings details of any
events they are planning. Collectives should use their common sense in
deterimining whether they can facilitate the event themselves, or if
wider support is needed.  Events can also be proposed at meetings;
expected that they be adopted by a collective.

==Collective reports==

*Art collective: gallery opening Friday as above. Any help in preparing
gallery before then most welcome. Request for £40 towards costs of
renovation. Money to be partially met by proceeds of opening, rest to
be reimbursed from central pot.

*Building collective: Extra work day on Tue 21 to replace Tue 23; email
list set up; meetings fortnightly preceeding spokes meeting.

*No Borders/Ketamine collective: Planning night of psychedelic/acid
themed films for end of march. No Borers have been dormant but are
rumbling back into action, vague plans for a panel discussion.

*Cafe Collective: Are looking forward to doing food for M1 gig and have
acquired toastie machine. Unfortunately have also acquired rats.
Kitchen has been cleaned and rat-proofed: MUST BE KEPT SO. No food left
out, no crumbs, rubbish out every day. Planning work days to faciliate
move of cafe space to other side of building, no dates as yet. Have
been offered a donation of books for library - donor would want
acknowledgement (?).

*Gig collective: are going to die this weekend. Should they survive,
they've got lots on in March too - check diary before planning events.
Help always appreciated to run events, eg 3 events 16-18 march. FAQ on
webpage will be updated to make end time regs clearer and more obviously
definite, in light of earlier discussion and problmes recently with
people who won't stop partying when told.

==next facilitator==

chosen.

==next socials==

*building collective, Feb 23

*gig collective, Mar 2: acoustic/open mic night - bring your
instruments...

*??D/Brazil/un-collective for Mar 9??

==money==

the missing millions are apparently not missing, and it's all in hand.

==agendas==

*noted that agenda items posted to Wiki should describe what the issue
is - ie should not be just six words. This is so collectives can
discuss and decide on their take on issues prior to meeting.

*Further to this, agenda items should be on the Wiki by midnight on the
Wednesday prior to the meeting, unless they're absolute emergencies, so
collectives can meet and discuss them.

==exeunt==

persued by a bear.
