I was curious more because of the odd manner in which I was approached about it, than an interest in motivating contribution. After all, I wasn't sure it *was* a real protest.

But since you've given an opinion, I suppose I'll give a response, which is that it perplexes me that someone on a pagan list would suggest that the destruction of forest older than centuries of human generations (as you did say this was a genuine situation) was 'trivial.' I wonder if the old gods consider human life so much more valuable than that of a tree.
