Wishing you a fabulous Beltaine, I hope you don't mind me sending this out to you, it would be wonderful if these guys got to buy their mountains.

I hope you will forgive me circulating this but we in Assynt need the 
help
of our many friends.

The Assynt Foundation is raising funds so that the community of 
Assynt can
collectively purchase a 44,000 acre piece of land including the iconic
mountains of Suilven, Canisp, Cul Mor and Cul Beag, the beautiful 
lochs of
Veyatie, Cam, and parts of Assynt and Fionn lochs. It's a once in a 
life
time opportunity. But we need help.

We are doing this under the new Land Reform Act in Scotland and the 
time
scale and the price is fixed - we have to raise £3 million by the 3rd 
June.
That is only five weeks away!

We have already raised nearly £2.5 million and are in negotiation 
with a
number of potential funders to close the gap. But we now need to make 
that
last extra effort. Every £1 will take us that step nearer and will
demonstrate to the funders that we and our friends are doing out bit 
to make
this happen..

If you feel able to make a donation however modest that would be 
great.
Every donation will be acknowledged. If you could email this to some 
of your
family and friends who might like to help that would be great too. If 
you
would like to take some appeal leaflets to a meeting or to put in a 
public
outlet let me know and I will send you some.
