            Royal Mail Strikes 
            The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has announced a series of strikes affecting Royal Mail over a two-week period, beginning at 7pm on Wednesday 25th July, ending at 12 noon at Wednesday 8th August. 

            During the first week, the strike will affect all mail centres on Thursday 26th July and delivery and collection services will not be available on Saturday 28th July.

            Royal Mail says it has well-developed contingency plans designed to reduce the effect of the strike and keep customer disruption to a minimum. They are assessing the likely impact on mail services for the week commencing 30th July and will put the results on their website, www.royalmail.com

            As far as businesses are concerned, Royal Mail has given the following advice: 

              a.. On Thursday 26th July, Royal Mail’s mail centres will not collect from business customers 
              b.. Avoid posting on Thursday 26th July 
              c.. There will be no delivery services on Saturday 28th July 
              d.. Tell your account manager or customer operations manager as much as possible about your mailing plans. This will help Royal Mail to plan their resources
