Hello,

We had a short meeting tonight at Angel Cafe from 5.30-6.30. Attendees
were myself, Mike Neary, Nigel Horner and Huseyin Kishi.

Apologys were sent from Pete Somerville, David Young, Gary Saunders,
Richard Hall and Sandie Stratford.

We discussed the letter of invitation to academic members and SSC
costings prior to our meeting with Charles Cooke of the Lincolnshire
Co-operative Development Agency (LCDA) on Thursday.

There were some important outcomes from the meeting that require the
input of all interested members of the SSC. We would be grateful if you
could find time to do the following:

1. Please provide comments on the draft Constitution:

2. Please provide comments on the draft Business Plan:

3. Please provide comments on the letter of invitation:

4. Please provide comments on the FAQ, which will go on the website:

5. Please contribute names of people who you would like to be invited to
join the SSC. This is essential to our business plan and the
sustainability of the SSC. We need names (ideally around 100) no later
than Wednesday 6th April 10pm. You can edit the document directly. First
name and Last name are all that's required unless you have more
information at hand.

We have asked Huseyin to spend Thursday 7th April, doing (paid) research
around the people listed in this document. He will ensure that contact
details and a one sentence summary about the person are available to us
when we send the invites out. You will see from the letter, that there
is a placeholder where a sentence can be added which personalises the
letter in recognition of what the person would bring to the SSC.

6. We intend to create a page on the website of SSC founding members, so
that invited members can see who is behind it. Please add your name to
the members spreadsheet above if you wish to be listed on the website as
a founding member. I will contact you for a brief bio.

Thanks very much for all your contributions to this effort. Following
our meeting with Charles Cooke, we will circulate the Constitution and
Business Plan for final comment before formalising the SSC as a
co-operative. We are still aiming to send the invitations out on 14th
April (see notes from last meeting) and need the constitution, business
plan and bank account set up prior to this so that we can accept
membership applications.

Best wishes
Joss

p.s. I gave a talk about the SSC to around 30 students last week (it was
featured on ITV local evening news). It went down very well and four
people said they wanted to sign up to be members. This is the third time
I have done this in one form or another and the response is always very
encouraging.
