I'm sorry about the meeting Amp. There is no explanation except that a
bunch of individuals all independently decided that they couldn't make
the meeting for whatever reasons, and as often happens in these
situations, everyone assumed that other people would make it so it
wouldn't matter.

Its not really in keeping with the way we work (or fail to work) that
one person takes all the responsibility for particular aspects, though
if we did have a secretary, treasurer, chair etc then obviously this
sort of thing could be avoided by one person taking responsibility for
the meeting room being opened etc. Again, I think it highlights a need
for a more organised approach (e.g. facillitation rota) and a stronger
norm of responsibility to the group (i.e. if you know you can't make the
meeting email apologies to the group; personally I'll try to do this in
future).

So, while a wrong certainly needs to be recognised and corrected for the
future, I think that the idea of an 'us' deserving an explanation from
'them' unnecessarily and inaccurately divides the group. The social
forum movement is a constellation of connections, temprorarily made -
today we are the people on the mailing list, on thursday we might have
been the people in the room, tomorrow we might be the world, who knows?
If people have expectations of the social forum then they should bring
them into the forum, explicitly raise them, and share in the task of
bringing them to fruition if the momentary connection that creates the
group feels that it is within its power.
