Firstly, I suggest you forward these comments to Mark at
info at rage-against-hallam.co.uk.
Secondly, it has been agreed that we want to avoid making students feel
targeted. Unfortunately there are some very important issues around the
purchase of this building which are of legitimate concern to the people
of Sheffield, and the fact that the university is giving the building to
the students' union does not change this. If someone stole your car but
offered to give a lift to work sometimes I don't suppose you would be
satisfied, similarly the community doesn't see a few concessions from
Hallam about usage as addressing our prime concerns about the way Hallam
has behaved in this process.
I hope to see you at a future meeting, the Social Forum will be meeting
on 17th Feb for an open meeting, which will be a great opportunity for
you to talk about your concerns.
